Therapist Spotlight August Edition

My Name is Elaine Braithwaite (Ele). I’m an experienced Holistic therapist, trained in many therapies. I've previous experience in working in spas and also running a mobile therapy business. I now have a new business called Peaceful Butterfly and have a therapy room in a converted summer house at home. I also make my own hand made gem stone and silver jewellery made in the butterfly workshop which I sell alongside the business.

The newest edition to Peaceful Butterfly, is The Crystal Conservatory shop which is packed full of amazing gem stones and crystals of all shapes, colours and sizes and at great prices. I feel that the crystal shop compliments the therapies and its a great place for clients and visitors to Peaceful Butterfly to relax and soak up the energies of the crystal either after a treatment or just on a visit.

I like to also take the therapies to work with special needs children and their families, I have a lot of training and knowledge having 3 boys on the Autistic spectrum myself I know how important these therapies can be. I run a monthly ASD support group from here Introducing holistic therapies to families alongside support.

The new venture due to open in the Autumn is the new studio where all the workshops and groups can be held so its exciting times ahead.

The Zephorium products are something I really love, quality products which have the amazing benifits of colours, essential oils and crystals so they fit in well here at Peaceful Butterfly and I have had a great response from my clients and friends about them. I love the Aura sprays and I have a couple available in the crystal shop for visitors to use.

Keeping your body as flexible as you can and growing old youthfully

30 years ago when I first went to see a chiropractor with a bad back she said to me: whatever else you do or don’t do, keep your body a flexible as you can. She explained that as we age we can tighten and all our ligaments and muscles become rigid and inflexible, then everything can snap easily and tripping up a curb can cause a broken hip. So I do my best with my Yoga and old ballet exercises to keep my body long and stretched. Not easy to do when there are so many other demands on my time these days, but an essential part of my maintenance package. I have every intention of growing older as youthfully as I can. My Great Aunts Bobby and Billie grew up in the roaring 1920’s doing the Charleston, and both maintained excellent health and vitality into their nineties by doing a daily yoga practice. It was not uncommon to walk into my Aunt Bobby’s house and find her standing on her head well into her late eighties. What an inspiration they both were to me.

Cleansing Your Crystals

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that our crystals need energy cleaning just like we do. As vibration is the basis of this universe and energy attraction is an important part of that vibration, it is really important to remember to clean the crystals every few months. Take a big bowl of warm water and put a big tablespoon of good quality sea salt into the warm water. Give it a stir to dissolve. Place all the crystals in the bowl and leave for about 12 hours in sunlight if you can. It can be on a windowsill if you don’t have an outdoor space. Wash the crystals in clean cold water and leave the crystals to dry on a towel on a sunny windowsill. It’s great to leave them for 1 day and 1 night so that they are cleansed by the sun and moon energy. Full moon is a great time to clean your crystals. Some crystals dissolve in salt water so make sure you check before you clean.

BE YOUR MOST AUTHENTIC SELF

Am working on my authenticity at the moment and really trying to ‘be it’ in everything I say and do. When I took my vow to be an Ordained Multi-Faith Minister back in 2007 I set my self a really high goal. My vow was this: - I vow to be the presence of love in everything I say, everything I think, and everything I do. Needless to say I fail miserable in that much of the time. I have learned that failing is fine, it’s the getting up and trying again, day after day that is important to me. When I am authentic it can often upset those around me and I am learning that it is ok to not please everyone else all the time. My challenge is to stay in my authenticity no matter what anyone else thinks or says about me, and although this was really difficult at first, is getting easier with practice. It’s such a relief to know that I don’t have to please anyone else. My job is to please me, be authentic and trust that in the truth as I see it, everything will work our just fine.

Blessings,

Our review of the wonderful The Rise, The Fall And The Rise by Brix Smith Start, plus win a copy!

I have known Brix for many years now and watched her attending my workshops and working really hard on her own ‘stuff’ to clear away the years of trauma. She has emerged into a beautiful and wonderful psychic medium and this has enabled her to write a book about her journey in a loving and clear way. Devoid of judgement or blame she tells her story with unparalleled honesty, and boy what a journey she has had….From famous band The Fall, her marriage to Nigel Kennedy, to Clothes Guru with Gok Wan and back to her band, she has had a seriously wild ride! I loved this book, it’s so rare to read a story of a life that comes from resolution and not anger or resentment. I highly recommend you buy this and read it!! Brilliant well done Brix

To win a copy just answer the simple question below and email it back to us. (info@zephorium.com)

How Frankincense is emerging as the new 'wonder oil'

I have always loved Frankincense, it is the main ingredient in our Indigo products along with patchouli oil. I have sourced the best oil from Oman which was used 9000 years ago for healing and burnt for its curative and cleansing qualities. I love its uplifting yet woody earthy scent and the way it lifts the brain chemistry into exulted states of contemplation. More and more research is emerging about this wonderful oil and the benefits it has to humans (and animals). I always wondered why, according to the bible, Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold were given to Mary at the birth of Jesus, but it seems these ancient people new a thing or two about healing! Science tells us it has 17 active ingredients that our bodies love.

Frankincense is emerging as a ‘wonder’ oil and is being used not only as an aid to spiritual attainment by religious and spiritual seekers, but is also being shown to heal diseases including brain tumours. I was always taught that aromatherapy needs to be diluted and used sparingly but new research is changing this, and one drop  taken on the tongue has many positive health benefits (always consult a trained aromatherapist first). Not only does it work well for stress and anxiety but it is also antiseptic, immune boosting, anti-aging, eliminates coughs, stops cancer spreading and is great for digestion. Ladies, it’s great for Uterine and breast health so rubbing directly on belly, breasts and neck area is great for your overall health…..

The importance of touch for human growth and well being

Massage is one of the most relaxing and loving things we can do for another. Recently more of our lovely stockist therapists are taking the massage oils into hospices, care homes and hospitals. I love it that the oils are being used at such tender times for people who really need to feel reassured, loved and tended to. I remember when I was young, an old lady said to me that the hardest part of ageing was that no one touched her anymore. We all need human touch and if you know someone who needs a bit of love and kindness, why not offer to give them a hand or foot massage. I like to use the Amethyst Crystal and lavender massage oil on hands and feet for general relaxation but for people who are frightened or  ungrounded try the Ruby Crystal with Ylang Ylang. Touch is so important for human growth well-being. Recently one of our therapists told her experience of doing reflexology on a lady with severe brain cancer who was scared of dying. She massaged her feet and the woman went into a blissful state of relaxation, whilst in this state of deep bliss and happiness she passed to spirit. What a gift for both of them.

We welcome all types of holistic therapists to use our products and we off an exclusive discount for all those who use our oils in their therapies. Find out more on our website.
